FIELD MANUAL / OPERATIVE ANYONE

Your next move.
Start here.

One private operation. A secret target. Someone looking for you. Learn how to get in, run the game and keep every move safe.

CURRENT BRIEFING · OCTOBER 11, 2026 · ADULTS 18+

THE GAME IN FIVE MOVES

Know the game. Keep your cover.

A Director gathers 3–20 consenting adults. Each active Operative receives a private target. Safe tags become eliminations only after target confirmation; survivors inherit new assignments until one remains.

01 / THE INVITE

You're in

A Director gathers a private group of friends. Your invitation is your ticket to the operation.

02 / GO UNDERCOVER

Set your account identity

Join the game, agree to the rules and become an Operative. Keep your identity in character.

03 / YOUR MISSION

Meet your target

When the operation begins, you receive a secret assignment. Someone else is looking for you.

04 / MAKE YOUR MOVE

Tag. Confirm. Adapt.

Make a safe tag that both players agree to, following the game rules. Verified eliminations give survivors new assignments.

05 / THE FINALE

Be the last one standing

Stay alert and outlast the operation. One Operative ultimately claims victory.

Before the first tag

Adults 18+ only. Participation is voluntary and safe-play rules apply to every operation. Do not begin live elimination play until the complete experience is verified. Use the elimination confirmation and dispute options shown in your game. Text-message confirmation is not available. Read the safety rules before joining.

01 / OPERATIVE BRIEFING

Join once. Keep your identity.

  1. Sign in or create your account. Use Sign In with email and password, Google or an emailed sign-in link. Confirm your email if signup asks you to.
  2. Complete your account dossier. Choose a unique Operative name in Account. Existing and Google accounts need a name before joining. You keep this identity across operations.
  3. Accept the operation invitation. In My Operations, redeem your Director’s shared game code or accept a direct in-app invitation. Confirm you are at least 18 and agree to safe play. Decline if you do not want to join.
  4. Wait for the start. Joining during recruitment does not assign a target. Read the operation rules and wait for your Director to start.
  5. Open your Field Briefing. Once active, view your confidential target and use Review elimination claims for reports, confirmations and disputes.

02 / DIRECTOR BRIEFING

Build the operation before the first move.

  1. Launch an operation. Create a draft from My Operations. It opens Operation Control.
  2. Choose your participation. New operations default to Playing Director. Set your Account name, accept the safety agreement and select Save participation mode, or choose Non-Playing Director to organize only. This choice locks when recruitment opens.
  3. Configure and save. Name the operation; choose Traditional, Harbor Hush Pizza, Kuro Tide Sushi or Wax & Whisper Records; set the elimination phrase, time zone, safe zones and permitted hours. Cover experiences also use an operation-specific secret code word.
  4. Open recruitment and invite. Save changes, open recruitment, then share one reusable code or invite previous Operatives directly. Confirm everyone understands the rules.
  5. Start with 3–20 joined players. A Playing Director counts as one. Pending invitations do not count. Starting closes recruitment and privately assigns targets.

03 / RECRUITMENT

Two ways in. Every player chooses.

A shared game invitation

While recruiting, select Generate shared game invitation. Share the same code with your intended group; each adult uses their own account and accepts the rules.

Return to Operation Control and select Copy existing game code to share it again. Reopening the page does not generate or rotate a code.

Prepare a text or email draft in Direct, Classified Briefing or a themed cover style, then copy and send it yourself. The app does not automatically send those messages.

Replace only when needed. Replacing invalidates the old code for future joins. It does not remove existing players. If a saved copy cannot load, retry first. Older codes without recoverable copies need your original copy or explicit replacement.

Invite existing Operatives

Search persistent Operative names in Invite existing Operatives. Results are limited to people from earlier games you directed or joined.

Select eligible players and choose Send invitations. They receive private invitations in My Operations and independently Accept or Decline. These are in-app invitations, with no email or SMS delivery.

Invitations do not reserve a spot. Final acceptance still checks the 20-player limit and prevents duplicate membership. A Playing Director uses one place.

Pending invitations close when recruitment ends, the game starts or it is cancelled. A declined direct invitation cannot be resent for that operation; the shared code remains an option while recruitment is open.

04 / IN THE FIELD

A report is not an elimination.

REPORTHunter submits a claim
REVIEWTarget receives the claim
DECIDEConfirm or dispute

Report, review, then adapt.

  1. Check your assignment and rules. Open Field Briefing in an active operation. Play only within permitted hours and outside safe zones.
  2. Make a safe, agreed tag. Follow the operation’s elimination phrase and consent rules. Do not involve nonparticipants.
  3. Report the tag. Select Review elimination claims and submit the claim against your current target.
  4. The target decides. Only the actual target can Confirm or Dispute the claim through their authenticated account. A Playing Director follows the same player process.
  5. Refresh your briefing. A valid confirmation eliminates the target and updates assignments. The hunter inherits the eliminated player’s target. The operation records a winner when one player remains.

05 / NON-NEGOTIABLE

The game stops when someone says stop.

Consent comes first.

  • Only consenting adults aged 18 or older may play.
  • Accept the operation’s rules before joining. A request to stop always takes priority.
  • Respect permitted hours, the operation time zone and all safe zones.
  • Keep nonparticipants out of gameplay and protect private assignments and contact information.

No exception for a winning move.

  • No chasing, stalking, threats, coercion, weapons or unwanted contact.
  • No trespassing or play at workplaces, bathrooms, private homes, restricted areas or unsafe locations.
  • No gameplay while driving or interference with vehicles.
  • If an encounter feels unsafe or a claim is disputed, stop and contact the Director.

Read the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy before participating.

06 / OPERATION CONTROL

Pause, finish or file it away.

Director actions by operation state
StateAvailable actionsWhat it means
DraftConfigure, save participation, open recruitment; delete an empty draftDeletion permanently removes the empty draft configuration.
RecruitingUpdate supported settings, invite, start or cancel recruitmentStarting requires 3–20 joined players. Cancellation closes invitations.
Active / PausedPause or resume; end early or cancelNo tags while paused. Ending early or cancelling closes assignments and open claims without a winner.
Completed / CancelledArchive; restore from Archived OperationsArchiving hides the operation from the Director board and preserves history.

Actions use a confirmation dialog naming the operation and its consequences. For Archive operation or Delete operation, review the details and choose Archive operation or Delete permanently. No name typing is required. Before submission, Cancel or Escape dismisses the dialog. If an action fails, review the message before trying again.

Archive is reversible. Empty-draft deletion and ending or cancelling gameplay cannot be undone. An operation with participants is not eligible for empty-draft deletion.

07 / YOUR DOSSIER

One identity. Your preferences.

Your persistent Operative name

Choose a unique name of 2–60 letters, numbers, spaces, underscores or hyphens, beginning with a letter or number. Names are unique without regard to case.

Your current account name is used for new joins and Playing Director enrollment. Past memberships retain the name recorded when you joined.

Full name and phone are optional and private. Your authentication email remains your sign-in email.

Communication choices

Game email, game SMS, news email and news SMS are separate preferences. News and SMS are off by default. These settings record your choices, but they do not guarantee that messages will be sent.

Where phone verification is available, save a changed phone, verify it with the requested code, then enable each desired SMS channel and save again. Verifying alone is not consent.

STOP blocks both SMS channels and cannot be reversed in Account. HELP provides program guidance. You can always turn saved preferences off. Read SMS consent details.

Global leaderboard participation is optional and off by default. A public leaderboard is not currently available.

Your Director’s covert site secret code word reveals an entrance through Pizza’s order tracker, Sushi’s reservation lookup or Records’ Find a Record. It activates during recruitment. You still sign in and join with a separate game invitation or accept an in-app invitation.

Harbor Hush Pizza, Kuro Tide Sushi and Wax & Whisper Records are fictional, browse-only experiences. No purchases, food orders or bookings are accepted. Records is set in fictional Vesper Hollow, New York; search DDR-001 for a simulated catalog example.

Three different things to remember

Cover code word: reveals the hidden entrance. Game invitation: lets an authenticated account request membership. Elimination phrase: part of the agreed tag rules.

Joining & access

My invitation code does not work. What should I check?

Sign into the account you want to use and complete your Operative name in Account. Copy the entire shared code, confirm adult eligibility and accept safe-play rules. Ask your Director whether recruitment is still open, the code has been replaced or the game has reached 20 players. One account can join an operation only once. A covert site code word cannot be used as a game invitation.

I already played before. Do I need a new account?

Keep your existing account and persistent Operative name. A Director can invite previous co-players directly to My Operations, or give you the shared game code. Each new operation still requires your acceptance and safety agreement.

Why can’t I find a returning player?

Invite existing Operatives searches people who participated in earlier games you directed or joined. It is not a public directory. Search their persistent Operative name. For someone outside that history, privately share the game-wide invitation code.

I declined an invitation. Can the Director send it again?

A declined direct invitation cannot be resent for that same operation. If you change your mind, ask the Director for the shared game invitation while recruitment remains open and capacity is available.

Can I sign in without a password?

The Sign In page offers Continue with Google and Email me a sign-in link, alongside email and password. Use Forgot password? to request a reset email. Return to the same website where you started authentication, and use a fresh link if an earlier one has expired.

Where do I sign out?

Use Log out in the Command Center or the signed-in public navigation. Your account and operation history remain available when you sign in again.

Director controls & invitations

Can a Director play in their own game?

Yes. New operations default to Playing Director, but enrollment is not automatic: set your account Operative name, accept the adult and safe-play agreement and save participation in Draft. You count toward the 3–20 players and can win or be eliminated while keeping management access. Choose Non-Playing Director to organize only. Participation locks when recruitment opens; older operations retain their existing mode.

Do I need to generate a fresh code every time?

No. During recruitment, return to Operation Control and use Copy existing game code or copy the prepared message again. Reopening the page does not replace the code. For a legacy code without a recoverable saved copy, use your original copy or explicitly replace it. If loading fails, try Retry loading saved invitation first.

Does replacing a code remove players who already joined?

No. Replace game invitation code invalidates the old code for future joins, so send the replacement to anyone still waiting. Existing memberships remain. Starting or cancelling the operation closes recruitment and revokes pending invitations.

Are text and email invitations sent automatically?

No. The shared invitation composer prepares text or email drafts in Direct, Classified Briefing or a themed cover style. Copy and send them yourself. Send invitations for previous Operatives delivers private in-app invitations to My Operations only; it does not send email or SMS.

Why can’t I open recruitment or start?

Save operation settings first. In Draft, save the Director participation mode and, if playing, complete the account name and safety agreement. Starting requires 3–20 joined eligible participants, including a Playing Director. Pending invitations are not joined players.

Which settings can I change while recruiting?

You can update the experience, time zone, elimination phrase and permitted hours before starting; save the changes before inviting or starting. Director participation locks earlier, when recruitment opens. The operation name and safe zones lock when recruitment opens. After gameplay starts, operation rules are locked.

Gameplay, privacy & upcoming features

Why is no target visible?

Your private target appears only when you are an active participant in an active operation. Recruiting means the game has not started. Paused, completed, cancelled, eliminated or withdrawn states do not show an active assignment. The My Operations overview does not reveal targets, and being a Director alone does not make you a player.

What happens if a claim is unanswered or disputed?

Neither eliminates the target. Only the actual target can confirm a valid claim. If a claim is disputed, stop play and contact the Director. A Playing Director cannot decide the outcome of a claim involving themselves.

Can I confirm an elimination by texting Y or N?

Not currently. Review and respond to elimination claims in your signed-in game instead. You do not need text messages to play.

Will changing my Operative name update past games?

No. New joins and Playing Director enrollment use your current account name. Existing memberships keep the name saved when you joined, preserving game history. Optional real name and phone stay private.

Is there a public leaderboard?

Account includes an optional global leaderboard preference, off by default. A public global leaderboard is not currently shipped. Opting in does not publish your private contact details.

Can I play Double Agent, Faction Wars or Operation Blackout?

These are Coming Soon concepts on Upcoming Missions, with no announced release dates. Current operations use the existing private target game with Traditional, Pizza, Sushi or Records entry experiences.

ON THE HORIZON

More intrigue is coming.

Double Agent, Faction Wars and Operation Blackout are preview concepts, not yet playable. Explore Upcoming Missions or see the current game in Discover.
